Sunday, June 7- Monday, June 8, 2015- Brazil, Here We Come!

After 14 hours of fly time, the TGC fellows and I arrived in Brasilia, the capital city and geographic center of Brazil. Graciously, TGC provided us with some time to rest from our jet-lag, so many fellows and I walked around Parque da Cidade, a large urban park near the center of Brasilia, and enjoyed our first taste of Brazilian food.

On Monday, the gracious and energetic Liberato Santos- our in-country consultant and former ILEP participant (ILEP is TGC's partner exchange program for foreign teachers)- provided us with an introduction to Brazil's history, culture, and education system. We spent the afternoon on a cultural tour of Brasilia and an amazing dinner at the sustainable Mangai Restaurant for a Brazilian buffet.
